PARENT and TOT Swimming Lessons

The Parent and Tot curriculum is designed to teach progressively challenging skills, building one skill on top of the last skill learned. In both Parent and Tot 1 & 2, we present the basics of water safety in a toddler friendly way over 4 months of lessons. The curriculum and goals for each month are emailed to participants so they know what to expect at each lesson and the goals of the focus skill for each week. 

GOALS of PT1:   To introduce new swimmers to basic swimming skills and to introduce the basics of safety in and around the water. We will take a slow, and calm approach to introducing our skills to each swimmer to help build their confidence and their ability to perform skills.

After completing Parent and Tot 1, swimmers may join Parent and Tot 2. The primary difference between PT1 and PT2 is the advanced version of skills that are presented in PT2 and the increased independence with which swimmers perform the skills. Working directly with the instructor is highly encouraged in PT2 to prepare swimmers for joining group lessons without their parent/guardian.  You will notice that the PT2 classes are not listed on our website. The reason for this is so we can ensure that before participating in PT2, participants have the skills learned in PT1 and are at least 18 months of age.

GOALS of PT2:    To learn advanced versions of the skills learned in PT1, to prepare swimmers to be water safe in more “real life” scenarios, and to prepare swimmers to join group lessons where they will participate without their parent/guardian.
